The Bocas Recycling Center transforms waste such as glass, plastics, and oil into useful materials through innovation and volunteerism.
How do we work?
We operate on the basis of volunteerism. The Bocas Recycling Center accepts a wide variety of materials, including glass bottles and containers, cardboard, and five types of plastic: PET bottles, high-density polyethylene, low-density polyethylene, polypropylene, and polystyrene.
In addition, we have incorporated cooking oil into our portfolio, with the vision of eventually collecting motor oil as well. From the waste we collect, either we or our partners create new materials. For example, at our center we manufacture tiles from glass, and Tetra transforms tetra-type containers into roofing sheets. This innovative material offers a corrosion-resistant alternative to conventional zinc sheets.
